Hoverloaf Privacy Policy

Hoverloaf is an Android screen-pet app (com.hoverloaf.app). This page is the privacy policy for the Play listing and the in-app Privacy screen.

What the app does
You care for a cat or dog and can keep it on your screen over other apps. You can take it off anytime with Recall on the Hoverloaf notification or Recall loaf in the app.
Data sent to our servers
We do not create accounts. We store a pet backup on Supabase in Tokyo, Japan, over HTTPS:
- Device identifier (
ANDROID_ID) so a reinstall can restore the same pet name - Pet state: id, kind (cat/dog), name, hunger, affection, mood, overlay on/off, ghost mode, size, last feed time, last pet time, updated time
We use this only to run Hoverloaf. We do not sell it. We do not use ads or analytics products.
Purchases
Point packs are sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment. We do not receive card numbers. On this phone we store your point balance and item counts (snacks, extra pets).
Data that stays on this phone
- App settings and a local pet copy
- Shop: point balance and item counts (snacks, extra pets). Not uploaded.
- Accessibility: home-screen icon bounds and labels, and the on-screen bounds of a heads-up notification peek — so the pet can walk over. Never tapped. Never uploaded.
- Notification access: that a new notification posted, whether it peeks, and a coarse type (message / social / call). We do not save notification text. We do not open or dismiss notifications. Never uploaded.

Sharing
Supabase hosts the pet row. We do not share with advertisers. We may disclose data if the law requires it.
Retention and deletion
Cloud pet data stays until you ask us to delete it (GitHub issue above) or we shut the service down. Uninstalling removes local data. It does not by itself delete the cloud row.
Children
Hoverloaf is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will change this page when the app’s data use changes. The effective date will change.
